Options & Costs
Driver Education consists of three parts: the online class, six hours of driving and the State-required drive test; click below to see our variety of program/payment options. We also offer additional options to meet the individual needs of older teens and adult drivers. Driving is by appointment only.
Our free, convenient permit prep seminar is a big hit for the student that wants some classroom instruction to prepare for the learner permit test. Seminars are offered every other Saturday at our Evansville office and also in some area high schools.

That’s the reaction most parents have when their teenager turns 15. While your child is dreaming of the freedom of the open road, all you can think about are the statistics…plus imagining a future of late-night worrying. That’s why high-quality driver education is so critical at this point in your teen’s life. Behind The Wheel offers full-service, year-round, personalized online and driving instruction that makes Driver Education easy! Check out these unmatched features of our service:
- Involves both the beginning driver and the parents
- Allows students to start learning immediately (no waiting for a class or summer program to begin!)
- Provides the Certificate of Driver Education Enrollment (CDE) form required in order to get a permit at age 15 (online course-only schools CANNOT issue this form)
- Features a convenient, online course that can be completed anytime, day or night
- Includes an optional, FREE two-hour prep seminar to help students pass the learner permit test
- Offers pick-up from home or school for all drive sessions at no extra charge…that saves busy parents both time and gas!
And rest assured: Behind The Wheel is fully accredited by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles along with all of its instructors, who undergo a thorough certification process, including an in-depth background check and physical exam. Students drive one-on-one with the instructor in our fully-insured vehicles, and parents are always encouraged to talk with the instructor about the skills their child needs to practice between drives.
And even if you’re closer to 50 than 15, it’s never too late to learn to drive! Our specialized adult driving education is geared toward the needs of adults with drive times that accommodate work and other schedules. Also available is a one-hour evaluation drive with a certified instructor that can provide an objective review of current driving ability. (Also please note that Behind The Wheel is NOT certified for CDL instruction.)
