It is important that both parents and students have trust and confidence in those that will be teaching them to drive; rest assured that all Behind The Wheel Driving Academy instructors throughout our eight-county service area are fully certified by the State of Indiana and undergo a national criminal history background check and medical physical every two years. We are extremely selective about who we train and employ, and we hold every instructor to a high standard of conduct.

If you have the patient heart of a teacher—and a sincere desire to help our students become safe, confident drivers—we’d like to hear from you!
If you are not currently certified in driver education in Indiana, Behind The Wheel conducts Indiana-certified driver education training each fall and spring for individuals we wish to add to our team. The training course includes 10 hours of classroom instruction and 20 hours of observational driving with current instructors; and there is a fee for the course. (If you currently hold Indiana driver education certification, we definitely want to talk with you!)
If you are interested in supplementing your income with a casual position that allows you to set your own schedule, please click here to apply online! Please note that we do not offer CDL training or defensive driving courses; and since our course is online, we are looking for in-car instructors only.
